<Hi

The sad undertone to this, possibly final newsletter, is due to the dire straights that London Salsa and our team find ourselves in.

We have maintained the platform and the site, so that you can find the freshest information on salsa in London. Our hope was that the scene would bounce back through the pandemic but, much to all of our loss, the new variation has again changed the landscape.

I and my team are now no longer in a postion to underwrite the costs in running the platform and, disappointingly, after over 10 years, will need to make that worst decision.

That is unless one of you, our members comes up with an idea.
Please email me at leigh@londonsalsa.co.uk if you have that method for us to be here for the full re-emergence of the salsa scene.

Teachers and party organisers are and will still be allowed to add information to the site for free.
We encourage them to add information about their covid safety rules.

Tonight's choices include the final Pexava social at Conway Hall in Holborn, where covid restrictions are in place.

Also tonight, the Salsatricity White Party in Barnet and The Incognito Xmas party in Putney.

New to Kings Cross each Monday, lessons for all levels with Streetbeat.
Bar Salsa Temple

Every Monday at Bar Salsa Temple, salsa is the heart of the lessons and the social.

The New Regency Orchestra are live in Stoke Newington on Tuesday.
NRO takes its inspiration from New York’s melding of Jazz and Latin from the 50s to the 70s, when the sound of jazz luminaries Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker collided with the Cuban roots of Chano Pozo and Machito.

Metrolatina in Bar Salsa SohoFor as long as most of us can remember, Bar Salsa Soho each Wednesday have offered lessons with the Latin Collective and Metrolatina, the full late night latin party.
El Grande Salsa Xmas party in Kings Cross
"EL GRANDE " Xmas party - Friday 17th December, 9pm - 5am, classes, shows, 8djs, 4 rooms, is still on as far as we know but please check on latest for this Kings Cross party in SCALA.

Mundo Latino Big Christmas Party in Guildford is also on Friday.

I'm not convinced www.londonsalsa.co.uk will survive into 2022 but we are collecting information we'd love to be able to share.

For instance, Orquesta Mambarito has started gigging.
They had their first, a sit-down affair at Toulouse Lautrec, in October.
Here’s a bit of it: https://youtu.be/YxWFMQRCk9I

Now they have their first dance gig, at Magic Garden in Battersea, Friday 28 January (Omicron permitting). https://www.facebook.com/events/652404112595112?ref=newsfeed

Their words to us :

"if you can give us any more boost among the dancers, much appreciated!"

Do us all proud and support this event if you can.
Live music is a luxury provided to us by dedicated musicians, who, like the dance teachers, have been under the financial cosh for nearly 2 years.

Wishing you a restful, happy and safe festive period.

Leigh and the London Salsa team
