Statement From the proprietors for LondonSalsa.co.uk

Following 15 years as the principal driver behind www.londonsalsa.co.uk an underlying medical condition means that I will not be as able to serve our community with the gusto and up to date knowledge of the scene that it deserves.

Looking forward, it seems logical that a person or group of people may want to continue the success and popularity of the site, whilst, simultaneously helping the industry to bounce back and build for an even bigger future.

The ethos behind the site has always been to offer a space where all teachers and event promoters can introduce their salsa-based lessons, parties, congresses, courses to the plethora of site visitors, members and social media contacts.

Therefore, you are invited to register your interest in tendering for the opportunity to “rent” www.londonsalsa.co.uk, the branding and the social media accounts associated to London Salsa.

Your primary intention would be to help grow the size of the salsa dance cake, so all salsa teachers can benefit with a slice and there is a wider selection of salsa-based activities for all.

For over 10 years, LondonSalsa.co.uk has maintained position 1, 2 or 3 on page 1 of Google searches for terms related to salsa lessons and events in London and the UK. The resultant traffic to site, pre covid, was circa 1000 of unique visitors per day, comfortably topping 25k unique per month especially in key Autumn and festive/Jan/Feb periods.  For hosts of lessons, this means a continuous stream of “hot” leads. For party, event and workshop hosts that local and international flow of people who see Londonsalsa.co.uk as THE “go to” directory for all things salsa in London.

Those involved in the industry are aware that new students can become devotees, dancing for years to come, whilst others come to one or a series of lessons and don’t become social dancers. For the person who takes a year of lessons, with a social event each week, the average spend will be in region of £1000 for each devotee – our data shows that Londonsalsa.co.uk attracts, on average, in excess of 10 such new such devotees (across the venues/teachers) per week, thus 500 per year, hence support the industry by around £500k per annum – and that is without accounting for food and drink sales within venues, as well as on additional merchandise such as on clothing etc.

International dance visitors always find the site, helping to further support central London venues.
